Over the years, the Founder of Impact Borderless Digital (IBD) has witnessed how debilitating poverty has been decimating the chances of many gifted youth to access quality education (SDG 4). He has acted by tapping into his rich global network of friends, well-wishers, and collaborators to reverse the worsening trend and give young people from underprivileged backgrounds, as he once was, a new chance with empowering education. The IBD Education Fund (IBD-EDF) it is, entering the growing list of the youth-centric IBD flagship programmes that started in 2019. This towering scholarship idea is dedicated to the people dear to the Founder who did their best in support of quality education and/or by excelling in education but died under the age of 58. 

The scholarship kitty targets learners aged 14-24. A weighted multicriteria formula is used to determine deserving cases. Head teachers and departmental heads, with recommendations from local community representatives, are key to the decision process. A duly completed and signed IBD Declaration of Need and Application Form must be presented.

To me, IBD-EDF is a baby whose gestation period lasted longer than average. From childhood, my irresistible dream of transforming lives through quality education defied many odds, inspired not only to transform my own outcomes but also of many other underprivileged learners. This category of learners is radiant with talents and passion, but the dark face of poverty is the greatest barrier to realising their aspirations and dreams of quality education and societal impact. Going beyond teaching and mentoring the youth to find innovative, collective and sustainable mechanisms of supporting their education has been my burning desire. To me, launching IBD-EDF is like the clearing of dark clouds to give way to a clear blue sky. The resulting azure scribes a bold message of hope, assurance and resilience, thus broadening the horizon of possibilities for every single underprivileged but passionate learner.
